Upon returning from NYC, Different In Ways was recorded. The tape continues where Pulp left off with its delicate acoustic guitar and melodic vocals. The front cover is a negative of myself outside the Park Central Hotel in midtown Manhattan. The songs reflect the trip to sing at Carnegie Hall, I never really left New York after that. During the trip I discovered the theatrical pop of David Bowie's album Hunky Dory and it changed me forever. That is what I think about when I listen to these songs.
